Podcasts and Road Trips

Summer is around the corner, and you know what that means… road trip season is upon us! One of my favorite things to do on long drives is listen to podcasts, and I’m always on the hunt for new recommendations.

My favorite at the moment is Milk Street Radio with Christopher Kimball. This podcast is a food lover’s dream, blending expert interviews, international cuisine, cooking tips, and food history. Each episode dives into the "why" behind food, offering practical advice, recipe insights, and listener Q&A. It’s the perfect resource for someone like me, who is always on a quest to perfect my skills as the executive chef of Thomas Street Cafe (a.k.a. "my house"). Whether I’m trying to impress my friends and family or just avoid another round of takeout, this podcast is a fun and informative listen.

And if you’re into short-series podcasts, Better With Books by Kate Hollis is a must. Hollis, a fellow copywriter and librarian, dives into the intersection of reading for business and reading for fun. She draws fascinating business lessons from all sorts of genres—novels, thrillers, you name it. Kate has opened my eyes to genres I’d not considered, particularly YA (Young Adult)...spoiler alert: not just for kids!

Food and books. That pretty much sums up my hobbies.
