Some people spend their entire lives searching for their soul mate.
I spent most of mine looking for my soul word, and the day I heard the word “fuckery” I knew I found it.

More About Judi

Let me explain.

You've probably seen women who move through the world in a state of perpetual ease and grace. Their hair is smooth yet bouncy. An ideal parking spot always opens up, just in time for their arrival. Their children speak fluent French and conversational Japanese and enjoy folding laundry. For these people, the stars align in harmonious precision.

I am not one of these women.

For me, life is an embodiment not of the stars’ alignment, but rather, fuckery.

While I’ve never been involved in a carjacking (but alas, the day is young!), I have had (more than) my share of nonsensical situations.

A father who once impersonated God on talk radio. A mother who became a local celebrity for dressing as the Cat in the Hat. One child who wanted to be Jewish. A second child with an imagination so vivid that her tales rivaled a Maury Povich episode.

But there’s more going on here than a collection of crazy stories. As I like to say, there is more fuckery afoot.

To continue our opening theme, some people have an unrequited love. I have an unrequited profession: I’ve always wanted to work for a dictionary publisher.

I’m fascinated by words – their meanings, their history, how we use them — you name it, words are my oxygen. They keep me going.

So imagine my dismay when I learned that my favorite word, which encapsulates my very being, is NOT in the dictionary.

People, this simply must change, and I’m calling on you to be a part of my dream.

I am on a mission to see the word “fuckery” enter the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Fun fact: the way words enter the dictionary is by their frequency of use. What better way to increase a word’s usage than by using that word in the title of a book? A book you’ll no doubt want to read and talk about with your friends all over the interwebs!

So join me for ALL THE FUCKERY! Buy the book, read the book, and most importantly, adopt “fuckery” into your own personal lexicon and commit to using it in your writing when the opportunity arises!

We can do this! We can spread the fuckery and GET IT INTO THE DICTIONARY!
